“How Spiritual Perception Brings Healing”

First Church Santa Cruz (Soquel) invites you to join Mr. Alexandre Fischer to explore “How Spiritual Perception Brings Healing” on April 18th at 1pm PDT.

A bit of background, as written on the website of christianscience.com:

“Whether you’re having difficulty with a relationship, a chronic or acute health issue, a financial burden, an ethical dilemma, a lack of purpose or worth, or any other problem, there are healing answers through prayer. Christian Science practitioners know in their hearts and from their experience that “…with God all things are possible” (Matthew 19:26).”

Description automatically generated with medium confidenceAlexandre Fischer is a Christian Science practitioner from Paris, France. He brings to his lectures a warm welcome to engage in a “heart to heart talk” with him. He sees this lecture as a gift to those hungry for truth.  As he writes, “It’s a bit like a free hot meal during a chilling winter.”

When Mr. Fischer was growing up, one of his passions was to read law books for pleasure, and to attend court hearings.  Later, he was a practicing lawyer in both France and the United States. He states, “To me back then, religion and spirituality meant accepting a system of beliefs and the letting go of discernment and critical thinking.  But the more I studied and practiced this deep spirituality, the more I found that it was not about BELIEVING in anything.  It was about exercising critical thinking.”

Gradually, he gave up his law practice to become a full time Christian Science practitioner.  He discovered that he still works to help others get out of trouble - to get out of a sense of limitation and to find more freedom.  He sees Christian Science as an opportunity to challenge one’s world view as entirely ‘molecule-based and soulless.’ “This new perspective,” he adds, “brings inner peace and healing.  It is about understanding more clearly our relationship to God, infinite good.

Again, from christianscience.com: “In following the example of Jesus, Christian Science practitioners respond to the full spectrum of human needs with consecrated, disciplined prayer that turns wholeheartedly to God. It is a specific approach to prayer that addresses the underlying fears, doubts, confusion, and discouragement that so often keep us from feeling God’s ever-present love and its healing power. This spiritual treatment – unique to Christian Science – is explained fully in Science and Health with Key to the Scriptures by Mary Baker Eddy.”
